Chemistry, Grade 11, SCH3U

Prerequisites : SNC2D

Grade 11 Chemistry (SCH3U) is an academic course that builds on the knowledge gained in Grade 10 Science (SNC2D) and provides students with a deeper understanding of the chemical principles that govern the natural world. The course explores key topics such as atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonding, and stoichiometry. Students will learn about the behavior of gases, solutions, and acids and bases, as well as the concepts of energy in chemical reactions. The course emphasizes the development of laboratory skills, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving through hands-on experiments and real-world applications. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in chemistry, preparing them for further study in science, engineering, health sciences, and other related fields.

Chemistry, Grade 12, SCH4U
Prerequisites : SCH3U

Grade 12 Chemistry (SCH4U) is an advanced academic course that builds on the knowledge gained in Grade 11 Chemistry (SCH3U) and provides students with an in-depth understanding of complex chemical principles. The course covers a wide range of topics, including chemical reactions, reaction kinetics, chemical equilibrium, acids and bases, and electrochemistry. Students will also explore organic chemistry, focusing on the structure, properties, and reactions of organic compounds. The course emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and the application of mathematical and scientific principles to real-world situations. Through laboratory investigations and inquiry-based learning, students will develop advanced skills in experimental techniques, data analysis, and chemical theory, preparing them for post-secondary studies in chemistry, medicine, environmental science, engineering, and other related fields.
